ISU Has New Artistic Outlets Available!
The Pond Student Union is proud to include the Transition and Mind's Eye galleries in their array of services and activities. The ASISU Program Board provides these galleries with a variety of shows. These two galleries have been host to major touring art shows as well as ISU student art displays.
The Transition gallery is well known for its spacious arena, which provides a display for a wide range of mediums and is located in the basement of the Pond Student Union Building.
The Mind's Eye gallery plays host to smaller more intimate shows usually composed of photographs and drawings. The Mind's Eye gallery will be moving to the new Rendevous Building.

Bainbridge Island, WA Public Art Program + Juried Artists Roster

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) + Slide Registry
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking professional artists for design collaborations and/ or public art commissions for its Art-in Transit Program. Over the next few years, Charlotte is building a rapid transit system and will incorporate public art into its stations, park and rides, and maintenance facilities and has allocated $2.3 million for art. In preparation for Phase I and subsequent phases, artists are requested to submit their materials to a new slide registry that will be used to make selections of artists as the system is phased in. Design fees range from $5,000-$25,000: commissions from $25,000-$250,000

New York City Department of Cultural Affairs + Image Registry
The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) is the largest public funder of arts and culture in the country. The Percent for Art artist slide registry is an up-to-date and important component of the Program. The registry is consulted by the architects, panelists, and City agencies for each project. The Percent for Art staff prepares a slide presentation from the registry for each panel meeting. The registry is open to any professional visual artist residing in the United States.

Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend, WA -- The Centrum Institute Residencies
Residencies are awarded on a space-available basis, in week-long blocks. They seek a diverse selection of projects, voices, genres, and styles, and intend to bring a broad mix of applicants and creative work to Centrum. Residencies are open to individuals or groups. They encourage residents to think about how the public might engage with their residencies. Criteria for selection include the strength of the written application, strength of the work sample, current resonance of the work, and potential benefit to you at this point in your career.

The Anderson Center
The Anderson Center is located at the historic Tower View estate in Red Wing, Minnesota. Situated on 330 acres near the picturesque bluffs of the Mississippi River, the Anderson Center is the largest artist community in Minnesota and the second largest in the Upper Midwest.
Each year, from May through October, the Center makes available private time and space to some 45 artists, writers, and scholars from the United States and abroad. Residencies, which include meals and lodging at the Center, are for two weeks to one month, during which time resident-fellows are expected to work on a clearly defined project and to make a substantive contribution to the community in the form of a talk, class, or performance of their work.

2008 Residency Season at the Artists’ Enclave at I-Park -- East Haddam, Connecticut
I-Park announces its eighth season hosting The Artists’ Enclave. Artists’ residencies, self-directed/project oriented, will be offered from May through November 2008. Most sessions are four weeks in duration. Residencies will be offered to visual (including digital) artists, music composers, environmental artists, landscape and garden designers, creative writers and architects. Work samples will be evaluated through a competitive, juried process. I-Park is a 450-acre natural woodland retreat in rural East Haddam, Connecticut.

Artist in Residence Programs - Spring/Summer 2009 Opportunities in France
Artistay is a service for artists, writers, architechts, academics, art teachers, curators...looking for a residency program in France in order to realize a personal artistic project.
We work with several art places offering a professional support to artists from all over the world and in various disciplines.
Applicants are responsible for the funding of the residency participation fees, they can though do an application with artistay even if they haven't secured the funding yet. We can provide a necessary documentation and contacts for funding advice.
Artistay service is free of charge for the applicant.

East Sherman Public Art Project (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho)
Project Overview
The Coeur d'Alene Arts Commission invites artists/artist teams to submit qualifications for public art on a grassy location at the corner of 23rd Street, and Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive, which is a point of entry / exit for Coeur d'Alene's downtown corridor from/to the east. This location provides optimal visibility and allowance for an art piece with significant presence.
The Artwork Should:
- Provide a positive impression and lasting memory for the visitors and citizens.
- Be designed and fabricated for long term outdoor durability and ease of mainenance, including
potential vandalism.
Budget and Payment Schedule:
The budget for this project is $100,000.00 which includes the artists design fee, travel, materials, coordination with the design consultants, fabrication costs, transportation, installation, of the artwork and any costs or consultant fees associated therwith, and recommendation for a maitenance plan.
Eligibility
The Project is open to all artists in the 5-state region (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Utah) regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, or physical or mental disability. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple discaplines. City of Coeur d'Alene employees, as well as selection panelists and their immediate family members are not eligable for partipation.

REEL TEENS FESTIVAL 2009

Three Island Crossing Art Show

Welcome: The Visual Arts Commission of the Mountian Home Arts Council is presenting the 3rd Annual Three Island Crossing Art show, August 7-8, 2009 at Carmela Winery & Restaurant in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. The art show is a juried fine art and folk arts show held in conjunction with the 23rd Annual Re-enactment of the Oregon Trail Three Island Crossing. The show will benefit visual artist programs associated with the Mountian Home Arts Council.
New Features:
#1 Artist Demonstrations: This year we are encouraging Artist Demonstrations on Friday afternoon and plan on advertising this event to bring more people out on Friday. If you would like to demonstrate your art please let us know. We will provide booth support if you need it while demonstrating. If you need an area outside of your booth space, we will provide that for you. Your acceptance into the show is NOT dependent on you demonstrating your art.
#2 Artist Challenge and Prize Money: One of our local artists, photographer Jerry Kencke has provided the image of the Bruneau Desert Sunset you see across the top of this application. We are challenging each participating artist to interpret this image by creating a work of art in their medium. All entries should be for sale and will be shown in a group display. The public will vote on their "Peoples Choice" and the artist of the winneing entry will recieve a $100 prize award. The original piece by Jerry Kencke will be shown, but will not be eligible for the award. For a better copy of the image, please contact Jerry or Cindy at (208) 580-0026 or JKencke@aol.com. You are Invited to Participate in the Eigth Annual Art Source Gallery Juried Show
Important Dates
May 30: Deadline for recieving slides/CD, entry form, $25 jury fee and SASE.
June 8: Notification of jury sesults mailed to artists.
June 24-27: Hand delivered work accepted at Art Source Gallery.
June 27: All accepted works must be recieved at the at the Art Source Gallery.
July 2: Opening reception, 5-9pm. Awards announced at 6:30pm. Show runs through August 1.
August 1-3: Return of artwork. Pick up all hand delivered entries between 10am and 6 pm.
August 10: All remaining work will be shipped at the artist's expense.
Awards: The best of show and Runners-up award recipients will recieve cash awards totaling $1000.
Juror: Sue Latta is a mixed media sculptor, working with a vast range of materials including resins, metals, rawhide, rubber, and latex creating abstract forms that are emotive as well as visceral. Sue has been a working artist for 15 years, working on number of public projects and has recieved grants fromthe Idaho Commission on the Arts and the Boise City Arts Commission. Her work has been collected throughout the United States and Canada, and is included in the Permanent Collection at the University of Nevada Reno and the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. She recieved her MFA in sculpture in 2007 from Boise State University where she currently works as an adjunct professor of art.
Eligibility: The exhibit is open to al fine artists and media (no video or crafts). All work must be origional and completed within the last three years. Artists may submit up to 3 works of art. Three dimensial works are limited to 75 pounds. Any accepted work that differs from the image will not be displayed.
Jury Fee: The $25 Jury fee is for up to three different entries. The total amount you submit for 1-3 entries is $25.

Eligibility
Open to artists ages 16-25 living in the Uniteds States who have a physcial, cognitive, mental, or sensory disabiltiy. Adisability is defined as an impairment that substantially limits a mjor life activity. Eagle Arts Commission/ Call to Artists

The Eagle Arts Commission mission is to "Grow and Celebrate the Arts to Strengthen Community" and is excited to present the Eagle Arts Faire. Artists of all mediums are invited to apply for the juried show to be held at Heritage Park in downtown Eagle on July 10, 11, 12, 2009. Artists must participate all three days.
Hours for the faire are:
July 10, Friday: 2 pm - 8 pm
July 11, Saturday: 8:30 am - 7 pm
July 12, Sunday: 10 am - 5 pm
Eagle Arts Faire will consist of three fun-filled days with a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere to include a juried fine art show, artist demonstrations, live musical performances, youth art activities, and a variety of food and wine tasting vendors. The cost for a 10" X 15" booth space is $150 with a $25 application fee. Public admission to the faire is free.

CALLING ALL PRINTMAKERS - DEADLINE MAY 25, 2009
The Washington Printmakers Gallery located in the historic Dupont Circle art gallery district in Washinton, DC is calling all printmakers to submit their artwork for its 2009 National Small Works Show in August of this year. Now in its 12th year, the NSW invites printmakers from across this Nation and International printmakers to submit their work for jurying into this very popular and much sought after exhibit.
This year's juror is Jane Haslem, owner and director of the Jane Haslem Gallery in Washington DC, and a renown international print dealer. Ms. Haslem will choose 3 winners plus honorable mentions, and the winner of the 2009 NSW exhibit will be given a solo show in our gallery here in Washinton, DC in August 2010.

Art Match City of Bend Oregon: Riverbend Community Park
Art in Public Places (AiPP) on behalf of a public art initiative for the city of Bend, Oregon seeks ot commission a permanent large scale work of art for the roundabout (traffic circle) at Riverbend Community Park at 799 S.W. Columbia Street in Bend, Oregon.
Project Intent/ Theme: The committee will evaluate all submissions based on artistic merit, and artist's past experience, and the ability of the artist to work in large scale. There are numerous possibilities for adding a public artwork to the site that would serve as an "identifying signature" for the new Riverbend Community Park. Given the varied nature of the artwork in other Bend roundabouts, ranging from traditional representations of wildlife to abstract works to kinetic sculptures, there are no restrictions on artistic interpretation. Application / Selection Process: This is an open competition for professional artists residing in the Northwest United States, specifically the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and North California. A team of artists is welcome to apply and the submitted images must reflect the collaborateive work of the team players. One application per artist or team.

1. A current resume including statements regarding your artwork/art education. Brief exhibition records only.
2. A total of 4 artwork images are required. (Please note medium, dimensions, location, and price.)
3. A statement of interest in the project is required. (Please express your initial ideas on the work of art you'll propose for the roundabout at Riverbend Community Park. Please note that the scale of the artwork should be at least 20 feet in height.)

The Eagle Arts Commission and True North Creative Learning Center are pleased ot welcom tThe Cabin's renowned Idaho Writing Camp to downtown Eagle this summer. Students going into grades 4-9 will have the opportunity to participate in the Idaho Writing Camp's program "Curious City." The Eagle Arts Commssion is offering $75 scholarships towards the cost of this nationally acclaimed program. Scholarship information is available through the schools in Eagle, from the Eagle arts Commission, or at True North in Eagle.
