GRAPHICS PURPOSE
Entry Track grants support public programs in the arts delivered by Idaho’s arts organizations and are the entry point through which those organizations new to the Commission can transition to PPA support. Entry Track grants also support the public programs in the arts delivered by university-based arts organizations.

GRAPHICS ELIGIBILITY

    graphics Applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria for Organizations overview page.
    graphics The organization's primary purpose must be the production, presentation, or support of the arts, and it must demonstrate a history of maintaining high artistic standards.
    graphics The organization must have at least a one-year program history operating as a public, nonprofit arts organization.
    graphics The organization must have a paid staff.
    graphics The organization must employ professional artists and compensate them according to the prevailing standard.
    graphics University applicants are eligible for one Entry Track grant application per university each year. Eligibility of college or university applicants.

GRAPHICS GRANT AMOUNT
Funding requests need not be specified. Grant amounts are based on a funding formula that includes the panel review assessment, fiscal size, and past Commission funding. 

GRAPHICS HOW TO APPLY
Application should be in 12-point font or neatly handwritten. Since copies will be duplicated, please do not use staples. Fill out the checklist, include application form 5, the narrative, all required materials, and comply with the postmark deadline.

Submit a clear and concise narrative of up to five pages that directly responds to the questions below. Number, repeat the 10 questions, and answer in order. As you write, refer to the evaluation criteria below.

  1. Provide an overview of the organization, including its mission statement and a brief history. Be sure to articulate its artistic vision.
  2. Briefly describe board and staff responsibilities and the level of volunteer involvement in the last completed fiscal year.
  3. Summarize organization’s planning process (marketing, audience development, long-range, etc.)
  4. Describe the arts programs and services produced in its last completed fiscal year and how it ensured excellence in creation and presentation.
  5. Provide information that addresses the evaluation strategies used to indicate programs are effective.
  6. Highlight financial strategies used in the last completed fiscal year. Provide explanations about financial information, such as significant changes in amounts, deficits, multi-year grants, and so on.
  7. Describe the community served and explain community involvement, including any initiatives, partnerships, or collaborations conducted in the last completed fiscal year.
  8. Explain how new, nontraditional, and underserved audiences were reached.
  9. Describe the accessibility of programs and services provided to the community, including compliance with ADA and Section 504 requirements (accommodations for people with disabilities).
  10. Provide a narrative description of how these funds will be used.

GRAPHICS EVALUATION CRITERIA

Panel review will be based on the applicant’s public programs in the arts delivered during its last completed fiscal year. Panelists will use the review criteria below as they score the application.

Artistic Merit (50 points)

    graphics Addressed the artistic merit of the services provided by the organization, as evidenced in the application narrative and supplemental materials.
    graphics Described process used to ensure excellence in its artistic programs and services.
Community Involvement and Access (25 points)
    graphics Identified the community served and understands the needs of that community.
    graphics Described how new, nontraditional, and underserved audiences were reached.
    graphics Evidence of community support for programs, as demonstrated by initiatives, partnerships, or collaborations in the last completed fiscal year.
    graphics Complies with ADA and Section 504 accessibility requirements (accommodations for people with disabilities).
Management (25 points)
    graphics Provided organizational structure, board and staff responsibilities, and consistent volunteer involvement over the last completed fiscal year.
    graphics Planning is appropriate for reaching the people for whom the programs were intended (marketing, audience development, long range, etc.).
    graphics Provided evidence of clear evaluation methods that indicate programs are effective.
    graphics Financial information is clear and indicates stability and diverse income sources.
    graphics Explained significant changes in budget amounts, deficits, multi-year grants, etc.

GRAPHICS AWARD NOTIFICATION
After Commission action at the May meeting, Entry Track grant recipients will be notified of their pending grants. Upon the conclusion of the grant period, the grantee will file a final report (see page 8).

GRAPHICS BUDGET
Using budget form 5-A, include clear expense and income itemizations for the last completed fiscal year, the totals for operational expenses and income for the past two years and the current fiscal year budgeted. (See Budget Hints.)
