Combining symbolism with landscape, dreams with reality, my goal is to merge the atmosphere of luminism and tonalism with the detail of fantasy and surrealism. The beauty of this world and worlds imagined are what I capture. My process begins with an idea, which may change as the painting progresses. I make a quick sketch to get my initial ideas down and then I begin to paint. Much like a dream, my paintings have the potential to evolve, giving me the flexibility to expand on my original concept. Using acrylic paint provides me with the range and versatility that I require, allowing me to work quickly and spontaneously. Through painting, I express my interest in nature, the unknown and the human spirit. I’m mystified by space and the infinite beyond. There is nothing more intriguing than the mysterious. Places that have yet to be fully explored, things that have no easy answer or invoke the use of our imaginations. I am inspired by thoughts of mysticism and the supernatural, yet I am kept grounded by the earth’s realities. These inspirations are translated onto the canvas allowing room for interpretation, giving the viewer the freedom to play with the image, creating a world of their own. contact
