en plein air landscapes in oil and soft pastel Jeannette Stutzman, a Colorado resident for nearly 15 years is a successful graphic designer (of 20+ years) with her own studio, Acme Graphic Design (www.acmedesignonline.com). Jeannette has known that she wanted to be an artist since she was very young, with memories of plans for her art career going back to 2nd grade. She graduated from the Greenville Museum School of Art in Greenville, SC with a degree in Advertising & Design. For nearly 10 years, Jeannette was an instructor at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in Lakewood, CO. Jeannette is primarily a self-taught painter utilizing valuable resources such as books and workshops to assist in her learning process. Jeannette strives to continue learning and evolving and enjoys attending workshops once a year. In 2007, she attended a plein air workshop at Ghost Ranch, NM instructed by Bob Rohm of Texas. Her mediums of choice are oils and soft pastels and her subject is landscape, finding inspiration and truth in being outside, experiencing the moment while painting en plein air. She does not paint from photographs or with the aid of her computer. Light and shadow along with color temperature and atmospheric perspective are focal points which never seem to stop yielding greater depth and enlightenment of their own for the artist. contact ![]() Last Night at the Ranch ![]() Afternoon Shadows at Pence Park ![]() Before the Rain www.jeannettestutzman.com Submitted on Thursday, July 10, 2008 |
